Squeaky Wheel Adventures is a non profit 501(c)(3) Maine Licensed Tripping Camp which brings together kids in care, including brothers and sisters placed in separate foster homes, for multi-day road trips in our converted 1963 alternative energy "earth friendly" bus. SWA programming is designed to educate and strengthen participants connections to themselves, each other, their siblings, and our world. Our trips offer experiences that encourage self growth and confidence building which will last a lifetime. Each trip uniquely blends fun, adventure, and self exploration.

Many children in foster homes are separated from their siblings. Many of these children may still live in close proximity to each other but are not given adequate time to spend together and create memories. Our sibling bond is a lifelong connection that can be difficult to maintain in the foster care system. These trips offer a unique opportunity for building memories and strengthening family bonds.

It is our belief that interesting and fun environmental education and outdoor experiences for kids is in great need today. Children learn and participate in solving global problems when they are challenged to think creatively and are encouraged to try new ways of doing everyday things. Our vegetable oil and solar powered bus serves as a working model for kids to see, experience and explore alternative energy and its impact.
